Guidance, Inspiration, and Support
Hello, my name is Mrs Duynstee and I am headteacher of Boughton Leigh Junior School and The Launchpad. I have been at BLJS for 11 years and am very proud to be headteacher. My background in teaching spans over 30 years, of which 23years has been within school senior leadership roles, including SENCO, and 4 years within the Specialist Teaching service advising schools across Warwickshire on SEN and behaviour, within mainstream settings. I am really pleased with what The Launchpad team can offer and so proud of the outcomes for our pupils.
Hello! I am Mrs Brown and I am the Launchpad Lead. I am also the SENCO at BLJS and part of the Senior Leadership Team. I am very proud of what we offer in the Launchpad. It has been a labour of love for me – being part of the design and build process right from the beginning. I am pleased to see how the provision has evolved and how well we support children with communication and interaction needs. I have been a teacher for a number of years and a SENCo for over 10 years.
Away from school, I love spending time with my family and two cats – Freddie and Foxy! I also love watching football and am an avid Leicester City fan!
Hey there! I am Mrs Rudd and as well as my other roles, I am a specialist teacher in the Launchpad on a Monday and Tuesday which is a truly fabulous place to be! Having worked at BLJS for over 15 years, I have a passion for working with children with a range of needs, have the National Award for SEN Co-ordination, have completed AET training and regularly attend additional SEN training.
When I am not in the Launchpad, you may find me in the new Thrive Room (previously The Dahl Room). Thrive is a whole school approach Mrs Campbell and I are responsible for leading and we are focused on supporting children with their social and emotional development.
I also teach in Year 3 on a Thursday and Friday too so you will often spot me covered in paint from head to toe as I love getting arty and creative! I am passionate about planning and delivering an engaging child-centred curriculum and believe that communication is key so if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and 6-year-old daughter, going on mini-adventures and holidays and the occasional kitchen disco!
I am Mrs Campbell and have been teaching at Boughton Leigh for 7 years as a class teacher. I am now teaching as a specialist teacher in the Launchpad Wednesday-Friday. The Launchpad is a calming, welcoming and enjoyable place to be and I love it.
I really enjoy, and have a passion for, working with children that have additional needs. I have completed AET (Autism awareness) training and attend regular SEN training. I am a licensed Thrive practitioner and lead Thrive with Mrs Rudd in school. Thrive is a whole school approach that promotes supporting children with their social and emotional development. I am also a DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and Designated Teacher for CLA (Looked after children) in school.
Outside of school I love spending time with my family and cats and going on trips with my husband and daughter. I am obsessed with Disney, Lego and Harry Potter! I also enjoy reading, drawing and listening to music.
Hi, I'm Miss Tomkins, and I have worked as a Specialist Teaching Assistant in The Launchpad since it opened in September 2018. I have received Autism training, Demand Avoidance Training, as well as Makaton Level one and I am also First Aid Trained. Before working in The Launchpad I worked in BLJS as a 1 to 1 for three years, with children who have a variety of different needs.
Since I started working in the Launchpad a passion of mine has been aiding children with their mental health, due to this I have led several art therapy, self-esteem and confidence interventions for children both within the Launchpad and the wider school.
Outside of school I love reading, baking, listening to history podcasts and an abundance of different music. When the sun is shining, I am likely to be found getting some exercise by either roller-skating or going on long walks.
Hello, my name is Mrs. Onfroy. I am a specialist teaching assistant in the Launchpad. I have worked at BLJS for six years and in the Launchpad for 3 years since 2018 when it opened.
